Plato & Vallis Alpes

Some quite nice seeing out there tonight. Decided to go with a green filter for this capture and I think it's worked quite well.

I also captured some images in orange, red, 685nm and 850nm and I will do a comparison of them all. Just need to find some time to process those tomorrow. 

Fullerscope 8.75" newt, GPCSM3 290m and Baader green filter. 500/5000 frames

That's a terrific image. resolving the rille in vallis alpes is no small feat, and you resolved the craterlets in plato quite well too. 👍

Great image Craig. I was getting similar detail with my 12 inch dob visually at 400x albeit with slight variations as the clarity fluctuated slightly - overall though the seeing was very good tonight !

Some 1 arc second detail in there - excellent capture.

Hi  Craig.   A  superb image, I was observing visually with a 155mm F9  Starfire up until  21.30 hrs. The seeing was good and great detail visible. Thanks for posting.   Chris.

Thanks all for the kind words. Glad I got the chance to go out last night, nearly didnt take the chance due to baby duty and a quiz with friends on zoom!
