Don't get me wrong - I like the spikes when image is created with reflector. I was just pointing out that artificially added spikes to look bad compared to "natural" ones (in terms of what they look like and how they behave - artificial ones usually don't follow laws of physics and look differently then "natural" spikes). But, yes, it is matter of taste - some people probably like such spikes. #matter of taste
daemon
I agree vlaiv! 🙂 I'd certainly never add artificial spikes via software!! But I am guilty of making a homemade (clip on) spike generator for using with my ED72 and ED80 refractors! 🤪 It's mostly to experiment and have some fun. It's good to contrast and compare images with different options. But I can imagine people will think I am crazy! They're probably right! 🤪 Nice dog art by the way! 😀 Cheers! Skyline
I love newtonian spikes showing the spectrum effect, just hate adding them with processing software. Edited February 17, 2020 by Skyline
toxic
spikes apart you will hoover up more photons with the 130pds than the ed 80 so less time to get the final image and if you live in the uk then every minute counts.
