3D printed focus motor bracket

I drew and printed a Sharpsky Pro focus motor bracket as it was easier than making one out of aluminium, and I needed a new one as my previous handmade one looked a bit naff.

This was to fit a Star 71 standard focuser.

It’s very strong, cost about 80p in material (PLA) and looks good too!

Looks nice and neat.

David at Sharpsky 3D prints custom bracket now when you purchase a system.

What printer are you using. I have been looking at getting a printer for a while. Just the thing for all these brackets, boxes and things that are handy to have.

I use an Ultimaker 3 extended, which I’m lucky enough to have at work.

Before I started this job, I had considered buying one, but no need now!

This particular one is quite expensive, £3.5k I think.

It’s great for simple things so if you have the use for one and can use 3d modelling software then I say go for it.
