Was never quite happy with the final result of this image as I could never get the blue from the Oiii to show through.  Recently I learned a new technique on "Bringing out the faint stuff" (chez Olly) , so decided to have "go" at it.
It's produced a rather unusual result but I quite like it.

Original Specs:

Quote

Dual Rig
Atik314L/WOZS71
Atik460EX/ED80
Both with x0.8 focal reducer
HEQ5
Ha 29 x 600 = 4 hours 50mins
Oiii 17 x 600 binned + 5 x 300 = 3 hours 15 mins
Total imaging time = 8 hours 5mins
Oiii taken with Atik460/ED80 and Ha taken from both cameras.

Now share how you do it  🙂

It's this thread that Olly posted (with all the instructions).

N.B. Press Alt/V to activate the mask.  Then and after you have done the gaussian blur and asked for a new window, click on the original image to reactivate it (in layers) to work on original image.
