Possible Tal 125 Apolar objective lens on ebay

I'm not sure if this would function 'ok' without the other rear elements, but it's an interesting thing to crop up at least.

It's a singlet lens if it is from the TAL Apolar. The optical system employed by that scope is a 6 element system in 3 groups (see below). I can't see it being a lot of use on it's own, frankly

I feared as much. Lets hope any bidders do their research.

I got to try 2 examples when I reviewed the scope for this forum quite a while ago. The 1st arrived with a broken lens element within the tube. The 2nd was undamaged although the fit and finish was perhaps rather rough for what was then a £1,400 scope. The optical design had potential I thought, considering no ED glass was used, but I would not like to try and collimate one where the optics had shifted !

Thanks for that John. I know of the trials and tribulations of the 125 and that's why I stated " a nice woking example. A sad, sad day when Tal closed its doors.
