DSLR - Modified?

Recommended Posts

Not too sure but the mod usually removes the IR blocking filter which makes the camera more .. pink / red sensitive unless a custom white balance is saved.

Can it see the IR on your TV remote ?

This is just an uneducated guess though ?

I have acquired a Canon EOS 5D camera body, the person who gave it to me said it has been modified for astrophotography.  How can I tell?  I'm not convinced he was telling the truth.

Very easy. Take a photo of a white page. If it’s pink looking, it’s modified.

Rolling all the answers into one, take a daytime image, with white balance set to Auto, the image will look odd due to a red caste.

Looking at the sensor with the shutter open on Bulb is inconclusive in my opinion, as you won't  be able to see if the LPF#2 filter has been removed as the LPF#1 filter will be in the way, if still present.
