Heater bands

I'm getting my new 8" Edge HD ready for work .. but I wondered if anyone had any experience with putting heater bands on similar scopes ? 

Basically how many and where on the scope would you put them ..

I have one, just behind the black band on front of OTA ... Loosened dovetail to squeeze it in neatly.

I use pretty much the same positioning on my C9.25.

The idea is to get the heat into the corrector plate, not to heat the dewshileld in front of it or the main tube behind it, both of which will cause turbulent currents.

Agreed, it's tough on the Edge as the corrector is pretty much on the join so the band is either in front or behind ... I chose behind as the scope normally points up and heat rises, I've also got the tempest fans to keep temp inside OTA controlled ( as much as possible) seems to work well for planetary.

Off topic (sorry OP) but where did you get the tempest fans from mate?

I'll try to find info, but it was from the states, took about a week which was pretty quick considering.
