Guiding graphs !!!!

I was asked a while ago to comment on someones guide scope graph )on a FaceBook group) and politely declined as they are almost meaningless. Whilst guiding tonight I took the opportunity to try to show why I said that. Attached are two screen dumps of exactly the same data. The first is as its normally displayed in arc seconds and a range of four arc seconds. The second is EXACTLY THE SAME INFO but displayed in pixels and with a range of 16. Anyone looking at the photos would instantly choose the lovely flat smooth graph in the second photo but it is no different to the first one !! ;-)

I know the guiding isnt great - it's REALLY windy out !!!

Nice example, David.  I only ever look at graphs if I can see the scales so know what I'm looking at.

I see your point, but they are really not uselesss, quite contrary. You just need to know the scale. ?
