Comet 46P/Wirtanen

Another first for me, Comet 46P/Wirtanen. Captured early morning on 20th of November, with a bright moon. I'm hoping to get more of this comet when conditions allow over the coming weeks.

Nice image Dave. We are hoping for this Comet to put on a good display in December when it passes through Taurus.

It's been quoted as comet of the year and it will only get brighter. I'd go for the newly discovered comet C/2018 V1 (Machholz-Fujikawa-Iwamoto) as it has a nice tail but it's below the horizon for us here.

That would be really nice if it will be as accessable as comet lovejoy.

But no tail from Wirtanen happy-kat. If it keeps going the way it is it may even be visible by eye from a dark site location or at least visible in binoculars.

Good capture Dave, it's still lurking on the horizon here but should start heading north soon.

No luck with Machholtz either, another low down lurker.

A lot of the better comets we haven't been able to get Dave which is a shame. They are either too low, below the horizon or near the sun. I'm pleased I captured this one though.
