I've been watching a small active area on the Sun this afternoon. Quite a way in from the edge as shown on GONG. Tuning through the range of the Ha etalon produces markedly different appearances. On band it appears to be a dark area surrounded by a bright halo, tuning off band makes it morph into a group of black "tadpoles", finally before completely disappearing off band it looks like a group of small sunspots arranged in a similar appearance to the Orion Trapezium but in negative.   ?
