Greetings, all!

Here are some more Venus images with the variable polarizing filter. It's pretty cool imaging cloud details that can be seen visually with some polarization. This first one is from the June 2 observing/imaging session with a 2x barlow:

This one is from June 8 without barlow:1894197309_ASTRONOMY-VENUS(DSC)6-08-18SM.thumb.jpg.65cc6981b56b8aed65bc35cd8b10f1dd.jpg

And here is a composite of two images from June 8, one with 2x barlow and one without (the un-barlowed image REALLY looks interesting):

Each image was processed in Registax 6/Photoshop from video shot on the Orion Deep Space Camera II.

Clear skies!?

Wow Reggie your pictures are very good and interesting again ? Like you said, the one without barlow, that's a strong dark shade you have there, it's amazing. I know these are real because I can see hints of them visually, with not too much difficulty. Great efforts with these pictures, and interesting effects with the made in Japan Meade and the ODSC II!

Way to go!

Thanks! Many pictures of Venus are captured using filters that pick up details we can't see visually. I was happy to be able to image what I can see in the eyepiece ?

Great shots Reggie! Well done! You know I have a polarising filter and never thought to use it on Venus! D’oh! Shall do so on the next available chance. Great cloud detail you captured there mate! Envious! ;)

Thanks, Gus :) Fortunately, my results are within reach without spending a huge amount of money, lol. Yes, do try one on Venus when you get the opportunity and let me know what you see!
