Welcome. While I like this image I think you've lost a lot of nice signal by bringing in the black point a little too far.

Olly:  I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I appreciate your observations though, as I know you are a man who knows his stuff.  I am a bit of a numpty when it comes to all of the various processing options for image data.  I have limited software knowledge and tend to use to use the same old tricks.  I had a bit of nightmare with this (https://hallingskies.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/m1-crab-nebula.html) and wound up with a horrendous blue gradient that wouldn’t scrub out on Astroart.  So I just magic wanded the background in PSP and flood filled it with an RGB 7:7:7 layer!  I didn’t think it looked too bad at the time but I obviously can’t fool the experts.  I have much to learn and unlearn, hence my joining this forum...
