M36

An hour on M36 in Auriga, 20 mins each Astrodon RGB with G2-8300 framed in a wide field for a change.

NGC1931 in the upper left adds a touch of interest.

Not the most exciting of objects when compared to galaxies and great nebulae but I think these clusters are quite nice.  I aim to do many of them.

Very nice , just about any cluster worth while makes a nice image . Clusters have always been my favorite object for viewing and imaging . Especially ones that are small and very tight with a lot of stars .

Very nice Steve. Diamonds in a rich star field springs to mind when I look at this image.

Thanks guys.  Yes indeed Steve, lovely aren't they?  Lovely to look at through the 12" Dob as well.  I think the open clusters can get overlooked when it comes to AP in favour of what may be perceived more "glamourous" targets, but I think they are really nice, like little jewel boxes.

Exactly Sara, this was done in moonlight and there was a wicked gradient on it that i had to remove.

Good use of the time and NGC1931 was new to me. Good stuff.
