Jamie
Hi Jed You will need an adapter to use a webcam with your scope. Here is how it works-You have to take the lens off the webcam and replace it with an appropraite 1.25 adapter. Then it just goes into the focusing tube of the scope and you focus as you would with an eyepiece. Hope this helps and if you need any more help just ask.

jed
hold up  am i right in thinking that i DO NOT use an eyepiece in conjunction with the cam then???not much magnifacation in my scope alone???Jed
MartinB
Correct jed. To increase focal length use a barlow. You should be aiming for at least F20 i.e use a x2 barlow with an F10 scope or x3 with an F7 etc. Getting the image on the laptop is quite tricky. Download K3ccdtools (the free version) for capture and Registax for processing.here is a link which you should find helpful.http://coxellis.net/astroimg/planetcap.htmMartin

Ambermile
hold up  am i right in thinking that i DO NOT use an eyepiece in conjunction with the cam then???not much magnifacation in my scope alone???Jedhi JedI suspect you will be surprised what the webcam will give magnification-wise. It will only be looking at asmall part of the field of view of the scope after all. ISTR the equivalent of a 6mm ep is the given figure.Arthur
