Well i'm out trying to set up but it keeps clouding over, spose to get clear later

I've got about ten layers of clothes on, so its a bit hot inside but freezing out. I'm determined to get a look at saturn so try and sit it out

Had afew probs with it freezing up (handset froze, couldnt do anything with it,) sorted now explain more on 1st light review, quit amusing really

heck , i never had that prob before hells bells i have had ice all over the scope but never froze the handset ehehheheheh , must be a lot colder there tonight than here ,. keep with it , u may be lucky ,

Soft ware glitch I think, but when I turned it off and back on to clear it ,it wouldnt power the software up at all

I SAW SATURN!

The 15 seconds of fame thing. Now its gone for the rest of the night.

It must be ages since I saw it as its much much higher than last time (just checked 17th, thats 9 days ago!).

I'd set up the Frac. to see if it lived up to the "better contrast and resolution" that I'd read about but forgotten that you look down the low end. Setting up the HEQ5 is easiest done (for polar alignment) without the scope on, and when I aligned it on a likely looking cloud I hadn't had the idea of testing the frac. So there's me, spotting the cloud hole with Saturn in it through the 10x50s, ended up rolling around on the ground like a break dancer, but i DID see it. Certainly looked clearer than in the Newt, but that could be down to the different seeing, darker sky, just the thrill of it or whatever. I'll need to do a back to back to check on that.

Trots in with the empty laptop, all covered in mud, to the usual "waste of time again? What have you done, fallen over? You did WHAT?" Happy days.
