Hi everyone

Another trial with the CLS. Reasonably satisfied apart from that awful star -a sort of orange Alnitak- and the unidentified streak...

700d on 130 f5, 2 hours @ ISO800

Alnitak??? I never knew that there is that nebulosity around Alnitak, I though it was just the Flame nebula and the horsehead....

I just looked it up, thats the Jellyfish Nebula... and that is not Alnitak, its Eta Geminium... and it is a orange star so your color is spot on...

My bad humour; at this time of year we are usually grieving about Alnitak ruining our horseheads. Here, the Alnitak is called Propus and the horse is a jellyfish:)

Again you managed to get a lot of color, nice.

Apart from the obvious huge orange star + halo, and the freaky diffraction spike like artifact/streak. This image just seems a little off, compared to your NGC 1499 which I think looked very natural and smooth, something I prefer. I don't know if it is the CLS, the processing, or something else.. I hope you don't mind me saying. ?

Is it cropped much?
