I spotted a guy on another forum selling a few CCTV cameras for next to nothing but I was only after a wide angle lens cs mount.

I dropped him a pm and he said throw him a fiver and he’ll stick a few lens in a box, whatever fits.

Well this all arrived today:

8mm f1.2

2.8-12mm f1.4

3.5-8mm f1.4

5-50mm f.1.4

Mintron Colour Camera

They are auto iris which hopefully will work with my other mintron 12v6 mono, but can these lenses be used without the lead?

You will need to supply a small voltage via the lead. You'll probably need to cut off the plug though, and apply the voltage via the wires that are exposed. This would obviously mean you can't easily use again for auto-iris. Not sure about these particular lenses, but normally a 9V rectangular battery will work.

Obviously all this at your own risk :-)

Maybe somebody has a more elegant solution, though.

I just started to remove the auto iris completely, pretty easy in all but 1 lens, but the really short fl ones all were ok.

The auto iris defaults to closed when not powered so had to be removed.

Bad weather here but managed a really quick test shot, 2.8mm F1.4 12s lowish gain on my Celestron 618c camera.
