DSLR setting

Hi guys.

I have a question about one setting I've been suggested to use with my astromodified dslr.

Why is that?

That suggestion will improve terrestrial photography, making daytime photos appear almost normal again.

Yes as said above helps to adjust the white balance. Or you can but a clip to do it.

Yesterday I took a photo of a custom white balance card, used the photo for the custom white balance and then took a photo of my room to see if the colors appear natural. With the B9G9 setting a white wall looks quite blue but with B0G0 it looks quite natural and that's why I thought it might be a setting that I have to use for astrophotography with the dslr.

When shooting using raw as we do for astro no white balance is applied.

I do shoot in raw but I read somewhere, don't remember where, that a white balance can have a slight impact on the raw images, or maybe I misread or misunderstood.

White balance is applied to the jpeg which is what you see when you review pictures as far as I know

The white balance required for your room will be different to the white balance for an external scene.
