A Quick Orion

Recommended Posts

At the end of last month I had some nice clear skies so went out to a dark site about half an hours drive away with my DSLR (un-modded), 70-300mm lens and Skywatcher Star Adventurer. It was absolutely freezing and dew stopped play. Still managed this 12 minute image using 30s exposures. Still very noisy but for 12 minutes, I'm happy with it.

I must say that what a difference it makes being away from light pollution, even if it was only just outside of town.

Nice image Geordie. Even with the noise I can see the Flame Nebula and a hint of the Horsey ;)

Yeah, only just a hint though but I was still amazed I even caught that since my DSLR is unmodded. I'm planning on getting alot more data from the same dark site once the moon decides to play nice and I get some warmer clothes.
