:D With a huge thanks to KK for all his kind help and materials, I made start this afternoon digging out the hole. Pier in, concrete poured and setting as we speak !! I have the 2nd pour t'row which will include the setting of the mount plate (still a little fettling to do) and some cobbles to set around the base ( so SWMBO won't be too upset). Looks great already ! Okay I'm not spoilt for choice re position of the pier but like many on this forum, I'll just have to make the most of what sky is available (remember the conversation MikeP ? :( ).

Anyway I hope to be able to post a few shots t'row !!

Okay the pier and mount plate are in !! Things didn't run too smoothly at one point but nevertheless no panic stations, cool under fire :bino2:

Severely tempted to try tonight but YES I know ....... Any way here are the pictures. I admit it's not the prettiest pier you'll see on SGL but it's mine and it's practical and it's aligned and it'll work  I'm sure.

Guess who's DEAD CHUFFED ??

The Cornus " Midwinter Fire" will need to be cut back a bit, as will some others and a few plants re-homed..... enough enough

Looks good to me Karlo, and more importantly,it WILL work.

Definite clear skies for me anyway so i'll be seeing how accurate my pier is when i put the mount back on,worked last time but may have been a fluke.

Anyway, i hope it serves you well Karlo. :hello1:
