Shortest Session So Far! (10 minutes)

Looked out of the window at 3am this morning and clearly saw Ursa Major, so thought I'd give it a go.

Went out to the ST120 at 3.20, and by then there were very few stars visible to the naked eye, plus some thin cloud had drifted in.

Managed to get Albireo in the EP, but since I was at mag x14 (widefield), didn't even split it!

Waste of time, so gave up at 3.30.  After a coffee and some TV, the sky was very light at 4.20 and I enjoyed the songs of the blackbirds.

So - 10 minutes!  I should have known better, but you know how it is when you're desperate to observe.  Roll on autumn!

What's your shortest session?

Doug.

Shortest sessions about the same as you Doug.

Set up tripod etc. Look at sky, jolly good gaps, lets mount scope.

Scope out to tripod, where's the sky gone?

This scenario is a far too frequent happening in my life, especially this year.
