Jupiter 14th August 2008

Starflyer

Recommended Posts

After torrential rain and a thunderstorm yesterday evening the skies cleared at about 9:30pm and I couldn't resist my first attempt at imaging Jupiter. The air was full of moisture and the seeing was understandably awful.

Here's a couple of the images from last night, the one on the left was taken with an Astronomik IR Pro filter and the one on the right with a standard Baader IR/UV block filter.

Very nice Ian, the left hand image shows quite a bit more detail than the other one (though I do like the colour!!).

Yup, I agree. Nicer images than I was expecting from your description over the phone. Well done.

Cheers, Martin
