Mars observations

Though I've posted some of these sketches before they've not appeared all together. From these I was able to plot the map posted earlier.

All were made using a Takahashi FC100DC under mediocre at best, but with patience at the eyepiece detail did reveal itself over time. Each sketch represents about 15mins of study time, so nothing too intensive.

Great stuff Mike. I reckon your eyes must be bionic ;)

Not had a good look at Mars through my Tak so perhaps I will journey to the bottom of the garden to get a view next time it's clear :)

It might be worth the effort Stu! This is a quick sketch from 5pm today at 6.6" arc. Difficult but still observable!

Sorry about the dull image, it was taken in artificial light.

Mike ☺

Really beautiful set of sketches, I can see many things inside some of them, for instance on the second set of pictures, the 6 planets in the middle, I see a spider's body.

It's always pleasant to look at your drawings of Mars.
