NGC6995 - Eastern Veil Bicolour

Hi All,

It's been a while since I had anything to post having had no imaging opportunities for months.

2 versions of the same data.

16x10min of each of Ha and OIII (baader filters) with FSQ-106 with reducer and STT-8300m

Hope to get the whole veil nebula this year (I wish) but for now here is frame 1.

 

an alternative version with a bit more of a stretch and less sharpening.

Probably a bit overcooked this one but people seem to like it at work.....

I'll take the first one please  . In my not so professional opinion, the star field looks as it should and in the second, the background is far too red for my liking.
That being said, they both have plenty of detail in the nebula

I suspect there is a happy medium to be had between the 2.

Hi Sarge

I would go with the first one but would say you could stretch more but not so much in read.  This a stretch and colour adjustment/calibration would create a deeper feel without the red hue.
