Is my camera beyond repair

I have noticed loads of hot pixels, red dots, blue dots and now loads of white dots on long exposure pictures.  Is the sensor on my canon 1100d completely past it now, can it be repaired, or is it even worth it.  I have owned it from new for about 6 years now.  Attached is a picture with the lens cap on, 30 sec exposure, iso 6400, f/6.5IMG_8654.JPG

I dont know about the 1100d but some Canon cameras can remap the sensor removing most hot pixels, you basically run the manual sensor clean option then wait 30 seconds and switch the camera off.

P.S the best guess as to why it works is the camera attempts to protect itself against ESD damage in manual clean mode by effectively grounding all the sensor contacts and hence re mapping when power is re applied.
