I need a clear sky on Thursday in Madeira.

A nice gentleman from the astronomy society here is going to let me use his 8 inch Dob to finally see M83.

So excited.

Ah yes....  M83.  That was quite possibly the most difficult of the Messiers to see from here.   Fortunately I had a night of excellent transparency but even then this was only an really an averted vision object at such low altitude..  fortunately it has a reasonably bright core!
