Celestron AVX mount problem

Hello, as I am at 13degree latitude I'm facing a problem. Celestron said the mount could be used from 77_7degrees.how do I stop the counter weights from hitting the tripod legs.

That sounds inconvenient! Can you use a heavier counterweight and/or a shorter shaft to avoid hitting the tripod? 13 degrees latitude sounds like you won't have a lot of clearance, I also have a Celestron AVX but I observe from the UK.

I can try but I have to pay a lot due to import charges??. Celestron should take care of such stuff.

Can you have the north leg on the south side, so you will have more room? Maybe you just need to change the azimuth stop.

Can you do that? Move the stopper?

It is probably just screwed in... if not there is always a cheap way to change it...

Maybe you will have to drill some holes and thread them so you can mount it 180 degrees and have plenty of room for your cw's

The alignment peg on the tripod head can be unscrewed and repositioned.

Just before I was about to click purchase I realized this problem. If I put the azimuth stop between the legs would the weights still hit the legs while slewing?

I think I'll have to buy smaller weights

Do they sell a pier extension for this mount?

Hey Cornelius thanx, I checked the manual. Thanks for all the help everyone. No I don't think they sell a pier for this.
