OTA Upgrade

Hi, I've been thinking of upgrading my SW130p which is  on a synscan goto mount. My question is, what other larger apature ota would the mount take?

whats the mount eg- eq3 -eq5 ect, do you want to keep with a newt or change to a frac? charl

FLO suggest a max of 5 inch newt or mak for the mount.

I have managed to use the 130pds which is heavier than the 130p on an az goto mount,i would not go any bigger though.

Hi, Xtreemchoas & glnlondon, the mount is an az goto, I don't know what it's weight rating is, If 5 inch is it's max then it looks like a complete new set up is required.I saw the 150p on astroboot yesterday. One of the main reasons for changing the scope, which I think is a great starter scope is the focuser is a bit naff. Has anyone replaced the rack and pinnion focuser before?

I have the same plastic focusser on my Synta 150mm f/5.  If you're able, you can install this one in its stead...

Chris - I have always believed in upgrading the mount first then the OTA. Trying to use a good scope on a so-so mount is just horrid.
