A good end result there. The seeing has been pretty poor around these parts, that and the heat/smoke from all the chimneys.

I think U are right there. The image is going in & out of

focus all the time. That picture is  with 0.1 drizzle.

I keep trying. Have got better.

Steve.

Hi Steve, nice result there on Jupiter, the gas cloud bands are standing out.

Just a thought but have you tried maybe 10% - 20% good frames? You may find that you could well bring out some extra detail. At 50% frames with average conditions, you may be stacking some bad frames.

Hi Dave. I will give that a go. I got Registax to sort 50%

on quality. I just thought more frames, the better. Was

not very good conditions that night. I used 0.1 drizzle, which means

I lost a bit of detail, for a bigger image.

Just had another go .No drizzle , & less frames.

Have you tried AutoStakkert!2 Steve. AS!2 will show you (roughly) how many good frames you have in the top left hand corner of the processing window plus a video quality graph. It will show you after the 1st of the 3 steps you perform. You can then use Registax for wavelets, RGB align etc, then to your image editing software.

Hi Dave. I cannot get it to work with large  RGB24 file downloads.

I am getting 12k worth of frames sometimes. It just comes

up error. I am getting 100fps sometimes with a 2 minute

download on Jupiter.  5k works ok in ASi2 .  I try to download as many

frames as I can.  I use about 20%. No problems with Registax.

This new camera is so fast. With Raw 8 mode, I put it through

PIPP first, which reduces it  to 25% of good frames. ASi2 works

ok then .  All good fun mate.:icon_scratch:

I would stick to capturing in RAW mode and stacking in AS!2 Steve. RGB24 is going to give your hard drive a hernia and registax is not in the same league stacking wise as AS!2.

I do seem to get better results using Raw 8 mode. In  Raw 16 mode, it goes into

using SER files. Is there any advantage using  SER files instead of  avi files Stuart.

Not really up with SER  files.
