skywatcher evostar ed 80 v ed100

If it is for DSO imaging (which I think it is looking at your recent posts?) then ED80 all day long. The ED100 (I have one) is more of a visual scope (and a very good one it is too!) than a DSO imaging scope.

You can still image with the ED100, but it's not the best choice at that aperture, most imagers would want a lower F ratio than F9. So for me the ED100 would only make sense for DSO imaging if you were mostly a visual person but wanted to do a little bit of imaging on the side (especially if you get it with the focal reducer/corrector included).

As Rik says it depends what you want to do. If it was for imaging or observing the sun (with solar safety filters) or moon I'd go for the ED100 over the 80, its extra aperture can help show finer detail at higher magnifications.
