Power supply

Hi

I have just powered up the shed ( clear skys ) and my power supply blew up ( smoke flames the lot )

Hope its not damaged my kit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However the power supply I had i.e 240v to 12v with a car plug input is not made anymore

anybody got any suggestions on a new one

How many Amps, does it need to run, plus some spare capacity....

It has enough in reserve that I no longer worry how many dew bands I am running as it seems to get worse every year. It can also handle all of the imaging gear.

I find my NEQ6 is most happy with it set to 13.8? (whatever is shown on the dial).instead of just 12v.

Don't forget: dew and telescope = different power supplies. Using the same power source can cause problems and is, therefore, not advisable. Avoid units with fans as they will drive you nuts. That Nevada looks a good one, here's another but slightly cheaper.

I've got one of these:

It's a great little unit, has a car cigarette lighter socket on the front and then terminals at the back you can connect to.

Very reasonably priced for a 25Amp unit!
