First try at the moon

Hi,

So I managed to try my new telescope with the moon insight for the first time. Any hints on how the details could become clearer? Its a bit grainy. What is the optimal settings when it comes to iso / exposure when taking pictures of the moon?

Setup:

Nexstar 6SE

Canon 100D with T-Adapter

ISO: 400

Exposure t: 1/25

Place: Norway

People generally take several images and stack the best ones... The seeing keeps changing so several shots give more chance of catching the moments of good seeing , also 1/25 second is very slow for a long focal length, try higher ISO and faster shutter , also a cable release or delayed shutter to minimise shake ... The setting you used are fine. What you can do is take multiple exposures and stack them. That will get rid of any grain and increase the detail.

good advice above, its a nice image for your first shot,your not too far out with your setting you just need to stax, registax is what i use, its free, just download it.  well done. thanks for sharing  charl.

Very nice lunar crescent. Stacking is definitely the answer.
