First DSO - M31

My first real attempt at the dark side, M31 5x300s lights 5x300s darks 10 flats 10 bias.

Skywatcher ED80, Celestron AVX mount, Imaging with Unmoded Canon 700D, Guiding with a finderguider & ASI120MM.

Stacked in DSS and processed with pixinsight (trial version - V impressed with PI) final tweaks with Photoshop CC

I don’t have a flattener yet and the guiding wasn't great in RA but it turned out pretty well for my experience level.

Welcome to the dark side :),

some nice detail starting to come through on the arms

the colour is starting to come through as well

If possible try and get more subs, that will boost your

detail, colour and signal to noise ratio,

Keep it up, and you will never leave the dark side.

well done

Paul

Thanks all,

just a test of guiding really as I tweak things plus the moon was rising steadily through my exposure time.

yes I need lot more data and dithering and a flattener and ... and ...

Oh well it's not like I am going to see the sun anytime soon so the Quark has been put to sleep for the winter and I have turned to the dark side.

Rob.
