A visit to the Double Cluster

As the Double Cluster is making an appearance at a more reasonable hour I thought it was time for a revisit.

 

So I had a go last night. Was not sure on exposure times as after all they are only stars so settled for 5minutes.

I have heard that there is hydrogen lurking around but my visit did not yield any.

 

Maybe a longer visit next time.

I am using my William Optics Star 71 and a Canon 1100d attached to a Celestron AVX mount.

Ah ha - I've got a AZEQ5GT mount and have wondered how tracking accuracy would compare to my Astrotrac.

Ah ha - I've got a AZEQ5GT mount and have wondered how tracking accuracy would compare to my Astrotrac. 

I have recently purchased some accessories (ADM bar, DSLR clamp) to allow me to attach my Canon to my AVX and track with that. The Astrotrac's look good and certainly weigh less than a full  tracking telescope mount.

Nice image and clusters. You got some red and blue colors of stars, also.  Who are they ?

Not sure I understand your question. My camera is IR modified which can turn some stars too red. I am looking at uploading a custom white balance into the camera soon.
