Strange streak in one sub

This is one of a set of 17 x 4 minute subs I took at the weekend of the Elephant's Trunk Nebula in Cepheus (close to the zenith at this time of year for me). I'm puzzled by the strange streak going from the top of the shot down towards the bottom left hand corner. It's not in any other of the subs, and it's much brighter than the usual trails on odd subs, which I assume are either airplanes or satellites. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? It appears to be split into two parts with a big gap - or is it actually two objects (although I think it is unlikely given the two parts seem to be aligned)

Likely to be a satellite reflecting the sun as it revolved.......

I agree with above probably what we call a tumbler

I would say a tumbler not uncommon.

OK, that would make sense - not seen anything like it before, so was curious. Wonder what its orbit is, since the north celestial pole is off to the left and the local altitude was about 80 degrees

I would love to image one on purpose they can get very bright maybe with a wider lens than the 200mm I was using.

Had a look on Heavens Above, and I think it must be an old Kosmos rocket - there are several that pass through Cepheus at about the right time and date

Makes an interesting artifact.  Shame that it'd ruin the sub for your real target.

I still used it in DSS with median kappa-sigma clipping to stack the images, and it disappeared on the final stacked image (a total of 17 SUBs)
