Exploding Perseid Meteor

Recommended Posts

Not sure of the "best" technique, but just left my "all sky" camera

(Watec 120N+ video camera) on FIVE second stack setting and

went through the videos by hand using Virtual Dub software! ;)

The 2.6mm f/.0 Computar lens (Thanks Allan!) shows 120 deg.

The (processed) limiting magnitude is slightly better than naked

eye. I seemed to be getting about twenty meteors per hour? :)

By far the brightest was this one - Taken at about 03.40. Sadly

running into a certain amount of high cloud (dawn!). SW at top:

The trail persisted into a second, third, fourth... frame.

So must have been around for a minimum of 10 sec?

Quite a bang!  :p
