16-bit TIFF will work for sure and it's a good format too. I can personally open 32-bit TIFF images in Photoshop CS6 but it oddly brightens the entire image when open in Photoshop CS6. I don't know enough about Photoshop and haven't bothered to look into it either, but at least it appears to open 32-bit TIFF files.

Maybe a quick transformation of Colour Space profile in PixInsight prior to saving as 32-bit TIFF for use in Photoshop CS6 circumvents this.
