...I might start looking at the enemy...as I have a chance to use power from 97x to 510! could anyone recommend a good 2" ND filter ? and does price matter with these as with UHC and OIII..thanks

I would think you'd do better with a variable polarizing filter for the moon... you'll want more dimming when it's full versus a sliver after all....

I just acquired (but have yet to use in the field) a 2" Lumicon variable filter which goes for about $60 in the US, quality seems excellent though

I use a 2" ND50 Lumicon for different things and it works very well, optical quality matters espc on high resolution objects like the moon. I don't personally use any filter on the moon but others do and some use even higher reduction.
