May a dobsonian stand on the floor

Hi 

I have a GSO dob 10", if i need to take the telescope off the floorstand, is it then okay to place the telescope on the floor temporary? Or would this damage the primary mirror?

I do all the time when moving it. I'm just careful the dog goes nowhere near it when it's standing up

 don't see why not the mirror will not touch the ground. I always place any scope on a solid clean surface.

It won't harm the scope but remember any moving around may put the collimation out. The only reason why I lie mine down is the risk of knocking it over.

I always store my Newt upright like that. As the mirror and cell make it very bottom heavy, it would be quite difficult to knock over.

My 12" Dob gets placed  upright on a square base with anti-slip rubber, the base has 3 swivel wheels so its mobile when stored.....

okay so no problem in the telescope standing on the adjustscrews on the bottom, just the risk of knocking it over.

I used to store my 200p upright as i had no box for it. Didnt have a fear of it falling over as it was in the corner, but it shouldnt damage it.

I stand mine on end but NEVER unattended. mine must be lighter than previous ones as its almost fallen over in slight breezes . I sometimes store it upright, but always strapped to the wall in the shed.
