Day trips

Guys,

I am trying to set up an interest day trip for around 20 - 30 children aged 8 - 16yrs old. I want the theme to be Space Science (exploration/astronomy) etc. will take place during mid August 2015.

Has anyone got any inspiration? I was looking at the following;

Additionally as I run a community centre I was hoping to plan an interest day on the theme within or around the facility. I was thinking of hiring an inflatable planetarium and getting some other stands set up. Again if anyone has experience of doing this or you can steer me in the right direction it would be a big help

I went to Jodrell Bank as a kid. Can't remember it being very exciting though someone may disagree. I've always liked the look of the National space Centre and hope to go one day.

This place would only be an hour away from you, Rick...been there twice and went to a couple of their astronomy evenings.

There's a planetarium there and a talk on the work that goes on at the Space Guard centre, including a tour of the observatory. There is also a display of meteorites, which is fascinating. They are geared up for groups of kids, as well.

Many thanks for that info on the National Space Centre.  I have done a reconnaissance and its now booked for the kids holidays.

The Space Guard Centre looks good.  I'm going to take a few of the older kids during the Fall.  Nice one
