Found a good deal!!

Hi all:

I needed to get three batterries for my (very dim) reticle eyepiece and my first stop was the local Dollar Store.  For $3.00 I got a card with 50 assorted batteries, including 10 that fit my eyepiece.

Good to go for quite a while now, and the first time I purchased anything astronomy related where I felt that I should pay more...lol!

So something in the dollar store cost 3 dollars. Over here we have a store called Eurosaver................nearly everything is 1.50 euros.

Legally and technically the word "Eurosaver" doesnt have to mean that everything for sale should cost 1 euro. I would think that everything is "the dollar store", should cost a dollar. 

Another example over here is Ireland is MacDonalds. They have a menu called the "Eurosaver" menu and most items on it cost 99c (euro cent). I think the menu only includes a standard cheese burger, or a normal fries and a small shake/soft drink. Each costing 99C, So if you have all 3......................you pay 2.97. 

Not too sure as its been about 5 yrs since i set foot inside a Macca's. Then i just had a coffee (great coffee) and a spicey chicken wrap (from the MacCafe menu).

Getting back on track, i bought a sheet of about 30 different cell type batteries a few yrs ago. Think they cost me about 8 euros and i used exactly 1 of them.

Nice bargain, those types of batteries are a real rip off usually (and deadly if swallowed so not ideal for those of us with kids to have lots of them living around).

AA battery packs are the way to go, that's what I have for my finder.

I think the pound shop in the UK got into trouble for selling things that cost more than £1, false advertising.
