Nikon question, please.a

Folks, we have a guest imaging with a recent Nikon DSLR. The camera, at the moment, seems to outputting stretched data rather than linear data. Is there some way of asking it not to pre-stretch the output? He's done some Milky Way with horizon widefields which show the MW cearly straight from camera. This is alien to a CCD user like me.

Thanks,

Olly

I'm not sure i understand Olly, how can you tell the image has been stretched?

I am new to the CCD game and the first thing i noticed during first light is that images were completely black (how a stacked DSLR linear image would look) where as when i used my DSLR you could at least see what i had taken a image of.

Are you expecting to see a 'black' image from the DSLR? Or am i misunderstanding.
