27/3 Montes Caucasus (inc Mons Piton)

This was an early evening shot of the surface (1800 hrs) on the 27/3. This was without the barlow etc that I have been messing about with, and because of the early imaging session, the subtle greys of the surface take on a different hue and the contrast of the shot is reduced), though I kind of like the effect on the mono 120. This image specifically highlighted Mons Piton (The small isolated island peak to the left of the crater Cassini). I sat here as I was processing it, and thought what it must be like to stand on the top and look around...an island of light in a sea of darkness...must be quite a moving sight.  Taken with the usual setup, from out side the front door.

Thanks for looking.

Superb image Steve with Mons Piton sitting out like a beacon! Lovely presentation and nice subtle processing - pleasure to view.
