hi all in the pst eyepiece holder there is a filter i assume its a blocking filter, does anyone know what the filter is in the extension piece, I'm trying to get full disc when imaging and doing away with the extension should give me the back focus i need to get full disc . I'm tempted to try it with an old modified webcam i got

There are two filters in the eyepiece holder, one is a blocking filter and the other is an ITF/blueglass filter. You need both of them really.

I believe it blocks out Infra Red coming into the eyepiece, amongst other things..

With a small chip like a webcam, you can get full disk with a Barlow by making mosaics.

what i was hoping to achieve is to get full disc images of the eclipse in the pst

It is possible to turn some metal off the eyepiece holder which should give you the backfocus you need if you use a short nosepiece on the camera.

i think thats what I'm going to do not sure how much to cut off . 10mm ??

mr hacksaw met the pst today i chopped  10mm of the eyepiece holder so hopefully i can get full disc just need a clear day to test

How are you holding the eyepiece in now?, I could only remove 3mm from mine before cutting into the threaded hole for the locking screw.

not had chance to test it out yet ,damn cloud, if it doesn't work I'm going to bite the bullet and get a lunt 60 which i will end up buying anyway lol
