I seriously need different eyepeices. Any recommendations?

Hello, I've had my Skywatcher 130 (900mm version with the "Spherical mirror", possibly a bad choice) for about 2 weeks now. And yesterday I got my first chance to look at the moon as well as Venus and mars in their conjunction. I was blown away by the clarity my scope could see the moon in. However, the image was somewhat ruined by large ammounts of chromatic abberation (With my 25mm) and showed what seemed to be LESS detail in craters etc when using my 10mm.

This also showes up for viewing Jupiter, I get good views with my 25mm (but still a large ammount of chromatic abberation) but see less detail with my 10mm and even less with the barlow.

While some of this is bound to be a result of my mirror(s) not actually being cabable of 90/180x magnification, I don't debut the stock eyepeices to be a large part of why the image seems to degrade at these higher magnifications.

So, with that, can anyone recommend a 25mm for viewing DSOs like M31/M41 and a 10 + barlow for lunar/planetary viewing?

Many thanks in advance!

You havent mentionrd budget but to my mind the best value for money in the 25mm bracket is the maxvision 24mm 68 degree eyepieces in the 10mm bracket the starguider 8mm is your best bet

Sounds about normal for Skywatcher stock EP's. The 25mm is fine, the 10mm is not brilliant.

Relax and learn to get to know your scope. You've only had it 2 weeks. Seeing conditions play a big part in what you see on any given night. You really dont need to be rushing out and buying any new eyepieces just yet.

24mm hyperion works for me. I also use a TS Planetary HR 6mm for planets - that would give 150x mag in your scope.

Thanks for the replies, guys!

I think the TS planetary and the MaxVision would be my most desireable choice. I think this it the right one, Ags? http://www.amazon.co.uk/HR-Planetary-6mm-eyepiece-telescopes/dp/B004KM0VXK

Also, rowan, I have never used that website (365astronomy) before, have you? (I'm very cautious about buying from new places)

Other than that, thanks for the help!

I certainly have learned a lot in the last two weeks. No debut I'll learn a lot more once the clouds have vanished above south western England.

I don't think I really know enough about eyepeices at all TBH. I'll probably put off until I visit the local astronomy group TBH. But I'll still bear the recommendations Ags and rowan46 gave me.

365 are very reliable, I have used them occasionally and have no hesitation in recommending them

Well, I guess that's a 2nd astronomy/camera retailer to add to my "Can almost definately trust" list. (The 1st was the place I got my scope from -Wex Photographic)
