You can either buy (expensive) nylon tipped screws, or (if you are really loaded) you can buy better focuser, but if you are cheapskate and only have original Skywatcher equipment, than you can simply replace shiny steel screws with nylon ones.

Here Skywatcher's original:

Old screw next to the new one. I went for M5 instead of the original M3:

And the finished job:

Screws are available from variety of sources. Mine came from epay for about 30 pence each.

Yes indeed  but if you don't want to do it (or don't have taps), the screws are available in all the usual sizes and I am sure that the original 3mm in nylon would also be perfectly adequate.

Similarly, I have used M5 allen head nylon bolts to secure finderscope:

Once again 1/10 of the cost of steel/nylon tipped screws.

I know you can't see from the photo whether they are nylon or steel, but trust me  - they are nylon!

You could of course take a safer route with your EP's add a Badder Click-Lock, no screws and you can change a EP in the dark in a couple of seconds.....

you clearly don't get it  or... didn't read what I said (I quote below):

"... or (if you are really loaded) you can buy better focuser..."

but this posting is not about buying, it is about cheapo improvements to cheapo kit :tongue:
