Hi all!

Haven´t been posting for a while due the weather, but got a chance this weekend to get some subs.

This is work in progress. 6 x 3 min subs on a modded Canon 1100d. Cropped due no flats. No darks.

Struggling with how to get the nebulosity out without bloating the stars and loosing star colour. However, I like the amount of blue nebulosity in such short integration time.

Have a Merry Christmas!

Best regards,

Erik

Very nice Mr Bergman, to get the stars the correct size you need to do two different stretches, one on the original to bring out detail and the other on a duplicate just to keep the stars under control  you then copy and paste the proper stretch on the star stretch duplicate and using a layer mask and a brush tool bring the small stars through the bottom layer. You have to experiment a bit to get this right. There is a very good tutorial by one of the members Uranium 235 some where in the forum that explains all this very well. Olly also has a very clever way of doing this by using two different stretches if you search for it in the forum. Hope this helps. and all the best wishes.

I like a lot, my 1100d is unmodded and struggles to bring out any nebulosity at all.

Will

Modding a camera won't make any difference to the blue nebulosity in the pleiades, only to objects with red in them.

There has to be another reason why you don't get the nebulosity.
