Yet Another Nag's Head

Took advantage of an unexpected clear night last night (despite a rubbish forecast for my region from the BBC) and got some Ha on the Horsehead and Flame. This is second target with new 490EX camera, this image is a bit better as I spent some more time getting the camera orthogonal to the HS lens. Surprised how little difference lack of flats is making, DBE seems to be more than sufficient at least for my NB images (I do intend to make some new masters for the hyperstar at some stage though).

Also combined some of the data with old 428EX OSC RGB image (unfortunately not the best overlap between the two hence crummy framing), will have to do some full sized RGB subs with new camera when I get the chance.

I never tire of seeing good quality images of this region. Lovely stuff, cheers for posting Paul.  You are right about the framing of the second image, but that is beyond your control, so don't be too harsh. The colours are very good.
