Higher magnification = fewer arc seconds field of view per pixel. Therefore any trailing will be evident sooner.

Despite the title of the thread ... I went ahead and made an order for an NEQ6 and an Evostar 80 ED (with flattener). I figured I'd start wide and then work my way to smaller objects. Thanks for the advice guys. I'm sure you'll be seeing me around on other threads!

I have just bought an Astrotrac / Pier and should hopefully get it towards the end of next week. Can't wait to get it set up and attached to my Fuji

If you fancy a cheaper alternative to the astrotrac (albeit a little more bulky) I love my SmartEQ Pro. Its got goto and guiding, its airline portable and with a carbon fibre tripod (standard photographic) its pretty light. I love my HEQ5 at home but the SmartEQ goes on holiday!
