It looks OK, however I wouldn't buy that one as it has a voltage adjustment knob and you are bound to knock it in the darkness and end up either blowing something up or turning everything off.

I've just bough one of these and it's working really well and is nice and compact:

This is the Company that makes them, the PSU looks to have a 13.8v button properly over rides the variable switch.....of the 2 i would go for your find but only because i think it looks nicer... Closer look maybe the button with 13.8v on it, isn't a button but just part of the cover....

Hi,

I bought one of these a few weeks ago and it is superb, but only 15amps, which should be more than enough, but I think they do a 20amp version also

I nearly bought one of those as they look pretty good but I wanted one with a ciggarette lighter/accessory socket on the front.

Quite easy to fit one on, I have done it, as the connectors do screw out so you can get wire behind them, and still use the banana sockets for other things.

There are ready made connectors if you don't fancy making your own......

The dual output facility is a nice thing to have particularly if you have a piece of kit that benefits from having its own supply. You can run power to that from from of the outputs and use the second for everything else.  I found that was ideal for getting a good supply to my NEQ6.

I would have thought that 15A would be more than enough for a typical Astro setup.  I have a 20A supply but the amps display hasn't ever gone over 7A.

i have one of these and whilst i haven't looked inside i suspect the power out puts would be linked, the fan runs 24/7 and can be heard....this place seems to be cheaper also has free delivery...

They would not work as, the connectors do not screw right off on the bench supply I mentioned, they screw out enought to get a thick wire behind, but not right off

I'm sure they are linked at some point inside, after all there's just a single mains plug .  I've no idea about electronics but all I can say from the empirical evidence in front of me is that the 2 outputs on my PSU behave like 2 separate outputs.

And yes the fan on mine is a bit noisy too, it competes with the noisy fan on my QHY8L

They tend to splay the end of the 4mm socket slightly to stop the  "nut" coming off...   Most of the time with a bit of extra effort (pliers) they will come off - might squeak a bit... but there is a risk of the whole socket part coming loose which is probably not worth the risk unless your happy to go in there and fix it if it does...

You can fit the cigarette socket with the rings on the end of the leads to the 4mm sockets, snip the ring so you can bend it out a bit fit it to the socket then bend it back to the right shape and tighten up, its only needs doing the once and does make for a secure connection...
